Byron wins at World Championships

On the first day of competition, Byron won his first fight against Nigeria 4:3. $2000 Sponsorship for Byron. 

      Byron Coleborne from Tan's Currumbin is the only Queensland representative on the Australian Team for the World Championships in Denmark.  

Byron has to contribute $3200 towards team expenses which is partly funded by the AIS.  To help Byron, all money raised at our Halloween Awards night will go towards Byron's Team contribution.

Two of our instructors have started the ball rolling by kindly organising  significant sponsorship for Byron.  Ms Sue Trewin Instructor of Acacia Ridge and Munruben has pledged $1000 through Distinctive Pools.  Mr Wayne Mahoney Head Instructor of Clayfield has matched the $1000 pledge through his franchise Frenchams Indoor Plant hire.

Byron will be at our awards night to share his experience at the World Championships.

Dan Grading.

On Sunday 1st March, Grand Master Sung Sool Lee visited our club to conduct a Taekwondo and Hapkido Dan grading.  In 35 deg heat all students displayed incredible stamina and spirit.  It was good to see more than 30 black belts attend and support fellow members attending the grading.
