The 2008 Awards night was another huge success. Of the 104 students
nominated, 90 were on hand to receive their awards. The night started with
the re-introduction of the jump front kick competition. We tested a new
jump kick stand designed and supplied by Distinctive Pools. The stand
worked great and we be used at next years Tans Open. After some brief
video segments, we were treated to some magic by Jinny Park from Buranda.
A brief demonstration was performed by our black belts including Poomse,
breaking and 1 step sparring. During intermission a number of prizes were
drawn with the major prizes going to Billy Cream and William Dalton. The
night ended with the announcement of the 2008 Award winners. We plan to
host the 2009 Awards night on 31 October and have a Halloween theme to the
night. Congratulations to all those who attended and assisted on the
night.
