Ky-Tu Dang Visit to Queensland - Tuesday 20 - Sat 24 April After a successful Melbourne trip, Ky-Tu came to Brisbane where Tan's were the host of his stay. A personal friend since 1997, it had been 7 long years since he was last here. He commented on how the place has changed, especially my house since he saw it un-renovated in 2003. The last time we saw each other was before we had World Poomse championships. It was great to discuss the development of Poomse with him. After spending the first night at a relatives, we took him down to Surfers where he stayed with Instructor Leon. Leon took him to Currumbin where 18 eager students were awaiting. The 2 hour seminar covered both Poomse and Sparring. The next day, Leon drove Ky-Tu to Brisbane where we held a black belt only session at Buranda. The session covered training drills, judging and all the black belt poomse. Each black belt was allow to pick 2 poomse to work on. Ky-Tu went around to each black belt and gave specific advice to that person. The session went from 7.15 - 9.30pm. The following morning we took him to Lone Pine to visit the Kola's. It was a relaxing morning with the family and Ky-Tu got to hold a Kola. That evening we went to Hendra where a two more seminars were held. The first was for sparring and the second was for colour belt poomse. As host, it was great to see everyone enjoy themselves at the seminar. Ky-Tu inspires us to enjoy and excel at poomse. He makes you think about the application of poomse and the many variations which can be applied. We are looking forward to Ky-Tu's next visit in the future.
